Welcome to Yoga With Emma
Emma has been practising yoga for over 8 years. The introduction to yoga was when she was distracted by looking through a studio window while trying to use a weight machine in a gym. Not the safest thing to do, but it was the beginning of things to come. She signed up for a 4 week course and the rest, as they say is history.
After 6 years of practice, it came a time to turn a hobby into a career. She applied to The Elbowroom, in Dublin 7 in 2010 and completed 250 hours Foundation in Yoga teacher training. She was mentored by Lisa Wilkinson (Director of The Elbowroom), Tanya Fitzpatrick (Founder & Director of Align Somatics) and Marianne Jacuzzi (owner of Seven Winds Yoga, Monkstown).
With a wealth of knowledge already absorbing, the hunger for learning still goes on. In December 2011, the great Ashanga yoga teacher David Swenson was holding a weekend workshop in Wicklow. Gaining more knowledge about the respect of where the body wants to be in any yoga pose. This has helped with teaching Ashtanga yoga to complete beginners . She completed and qualified a Rainbow Kids Yoga Course in Dublin in June 2012 where learning from kids is so much fun. Allowing the creative mind to flourish.
In May 2013, David Swenson returned to Ireland to give a 40 hour Intensive Yoga Teacher Training course. Emma completed this course with greatest inspiration and motivation to teach the full Primary Sequence of the Ashtanga practice to everyone.
To add another string to her bow, she also completed the Align Somatics coaching course. This was hosted by her mentor Tanya Ftizpatrick in July 2013. Emma is one of 7 in Ireland to have completed this type of training. Emma will introduce this as Mindful Movement to be Pain free.
Emma loves meeting people, helping them with their yoga journey
