Monaghan Photographic Society

Monaghan Photographic Society was founded in 1976. Meetings in the early years were held in local schools and hotels.

In 1988 we moved into The Belbroid Centre, our own purpose built premises. The centre comprises a large studio / meeting room which seats about 80; a smaller meeting room / kitchen which seats about 15. It is situated at North Road, Monaghan, beside the Library car-park. N54-14.947, W6-58.252.

Meetings are held at 8 pm most Tuesday nights between the last Tuesday in September and the first Tuesday in April.

The society is one of the leading clubs in Ireland and has one of the best records in the National League. We have won numerous national awards including the following: 1982: Best Monochrome Club, Best Colour Print Club, National Champions. 1985: Best Colour Print Club, National Champions. 1990: Best Colour Print Club. 1993: Best Colour Print Club. The society has awarded life membership to three members for their outstanding contribution to the society. They are: Sean Cannon, Achill Island, Co. Mayo. Seamus Clerkin, Tralee, Co Kerry and Donal McEnroe, Monaghan.¬†
