The Greene family have been in the licensed trade since 1915, initially in Greene’s of William Street (presently known as The Greene Café). Bryan Greene took over the family business in 1959.
In 1969, a three and a half acre site was purchased on the Ennis Road and ‘The Greenhills Hotel Limerick’ opened its doors in April 1970. Over the years it has expanded and developed to one of the finest Limerick hotels offering 3 star hotel accommodation along with extensive Wedding, Conference and Leisure facilities.
Today, the business remains family run with Daughter Daphne Greene working as General Manager of the Greenhills Hotel and Son Hugh Greene working as the Executive Chef for the Hotel.
Family owned and managed the Greenhills Hotel in Limerick, has established over the past 40 years a reputation for excellent service, quality and a uniquely warm welcome that will make a short break seem like a holiday.

The Unicorn Pub and Fables Restaurant Located in Dooradoyle, remains very much a family affair with Manager Bryan A Greene. The aims of the Greene family remain the same, simply “to provide a personalised, warm, efficient service thus ensuring growth and success.”
Fables restaurant is located upstairs in the Unicorn pub. Fables serve a wide varied menu in a convivial sourrdings with Friendly staff. Fables Restaurant at The Unicorn is open seven days a week from 11am to 10pm.
In October 2005 The Unicorn Bar revealed its Late Bar license making it the first official Late Bar in the Limerick suburbs. The bar now serves every Friday and Saturday night until 1.30am and live bands perform every weekend followed by a top resident dj.
